This article is going to focus on the topic of home remedies that are designed to alleviate snoring. I am sure that you will be very surprised at just how many home remedies for snoring are really successful, and we’re going to look at some of those below.

One of the most popular home remedies for snoring that I am aware of, is to prevent the snorer from rolling onto their back during the night. This does help with decreasing the chances of snoring, but it requires some patience and perseverance. It works by placing a pillow behind the person who snores, in order to keep them on their side rather than their back. The main obstacle here is that it takes some getting used to, and initially it prevents natural sleep patterns.

There is another more extreme method, similar to the one above. This is achieved by sewing a ball or other round object into the person’s pyjamas, therefore ensuring that they are unable to lie on their back. As you would expect, this too can be extremely uncomfortable to begin with, but does mean that as the snorer is unable to lie their back.

Looking At Yourself For A Cure

We talk a lot about self accountability with regard to why people snore, as there are things that can instantly be done regarding your lifestyle, that will help you with this problem. Changes in your diet for example can help. By this we mean reducing the amount of fried and spicy foods that you eat, and eating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables.

There is a very real connection between being overweight and snoring, and so reducing your calorific intake and watching what you eat will mean you put on less excess weight, which may alleviate snoring. This would appear to be one of the most basic home remedies for snoring, and it doesn’t cost you a penny.

Additional Home Remedies For Snoring

The use of essential oils can aid not only sleeping in general, but the problem of snoring. Oils such as eucalyptus (which is proven to help breathing) can either be gently rubbed under the nose at bedtime, sprinkled onto the pillow or placed in a tea-light burner in the room.

Another more user friendly home remedy for snoring, as well as other sleeping conditions, is the use of a herbal sleep pillow. These can be purchased from most health and aromatherapy outlets and there are several different types available. There are traditional aromatic herbs, such as lavender and marjoram that can be obtained in their own pillow, alternatively you can sprinkle some oil onto your own pillow if you prefer. In addition, flowers obtained from the lime tree are an unusual, yet effective home remedy for snoring.
